ABOUT SCOTT CARLIN

I have extensive experience in dynamic leadership, having served as a combat leader of 53 soldiers and responsible for over $35 million of equipment during a complex logistical operation (Iraqi Theater Drawdown 20••••11). This experience included planning projects (missions), providing project briefings (mission briefs), coordinating effective use of personnel, and setting priorities for tasks while establishing benchmarks for achieving the goals of the organization. I provided direct supervision of 12 Junior Leaders, providing mentorship, performance evaluations, and leadership training/counseling so they could achieve higher levels of leadership and career advancement. When you describe your job as being a professional truck driver, people tend to get the wrong impression. Some think that a lack of skills or ambition leads a person to pursue such a career. In my case, I can say that my corner window office changes its view constantly. This unique experiance also allows me valuable insights vital to logistics and transportation organizations because I understand what is required of professional drivers and the demands/stress they are under to meet or exceed customer demands. Moreover, working with an industry leading company, Riverside Transportation, Inc.(RTI) has not only provided me with a great experience in further developing these skills but also taught me the value of respect, integrity, and pride that one should take from doing such a demanding job. When I am not driving, I enjoy spending time at home with my family, where I enjoy making wine and homebrewing beer. I also enjoy cooking, and I am a big 80s New Wave music fan and film buff. I am very much a person who enjoys meeting people from all backgrounds and perspectives. The very best way I can become a better person is through hearing your stories and experiences, so please take time to say hello, share your story and connect with me through Linkedin.
