ABOUT SCOTT CALDERWOOD MENG MICHEME

I am a Chartered (MEng CEng MIChemE) Chemical Engineer with over 11 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry, supporting both fixed leg and FPSO assets; ageing and new. In my early career, I completed the Process Engineering graduate programme with Petrofac, a year in an Operations Development & Optimisation Engineering role offshore and completed an 18-month role as ‘Operations Engineer’ with one of Petrofac’s clients; CNR International. In January 2018, I joined Hurricane Energy as a ‘Production Operations Engineer’ and helped bring the industry first Lancaster EPS project online. From there, I was promoted to ‘Senior Production Operations Engineer’ and thereafter promoted again to ‘Operations & Maintenance Lead’. In addition to my operational role, I held Hurricane’s crude marketing responsibility, working with the BP marketing and trading teams to sell all GLA crude parcels, plan tanker offloads and provide production forecasts. In June 2021, I joined Bumi Armada as ‘Operations Superintendent’ for the Armada Kraken FPSO and in May 2022 was promoted to the position of \'Operations Manager\', assuming the overall responsibility for the daily operational running of the asset. I am a trustworthy, hardworking and reliable person with a keen ambition to continue to further broaden my career in the oil and gas industry. I am able to work on my own initiative and work well as a manager, team leader and team member to achieve results and deadlines. I am a confident communicator who gets on well with and interacts with all types of people in a social and professional manner. I am driven, motivated and highly focused and conscientious in all work that I do; demonstrated not only by receiving several promotions in my professional career, but also at University when I was awarded the Talisman-Energy Specialist Undergraduate Scholarship. I also am a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) ambassador and in the past, I have been a Career ready mentor, assisting a secondary school pupil with his personal development; and have played key roles in UK-wide STEM initiatives.
