ABOUT SCOTT BAIRD

risk management professional with over 20 years’ experience across the Financial Services industry, bringing deep expertise in operating within complex, highly regulated banking environments. I have spent more than a decade in both Line 1 and Line 2 risk roles, developing a strong, practical understanding of how effective risk management underpins safe, sustainable business outcomes.My experience spans Operational Risk, Financial Crime and People Risk, where I have supported and led the design, implementation and oversight of risk and control frameworks, incident management, and governance processes. This breadth of experience has provided me with a strong foundation across non‑financial risk disciplines, as well as the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments.More recently, I have moved into the highly specialised Technology Risk discipline within Corporate Banking. This role requires a deeper and more technical understanding of how technology underpins business processes, products and services, and how associated risks can impact resilience, data integrity and client outcomes. In my current role, I focus on maintaining a robust and sustainable technology risk and controls environment, with responsibility for the governance and reporting of risk events and issues, alongside oversight of the wider risk management framework. My role supports clear articulation of technology risk to senior management, enabling informed decision‑making and effective risk ownership.
