I never thought my alignment to the Bank of Scotland Credit Card team, as a fresh faced Software Engineer over 3 decades ago, would take me on an exciting journey through the Cards and Payments world. Yet all these years later I am thankfull for that initial opportunity. It gave me something to be passionate about and the ability to grow my knowledge of the Cards and Payments industry through delivery and leadership of some truly innovative industry and product capabilities and features. It has made me the Transformational Technology Leader I am today. It\'s been a rollercoaster journey from the initial magstripe card with signature authentication, the rollout of EMV, introduction of Chip and PIN and onto the Contactless technology we use to pay with every day. Not to mention Mobile WalletPay solutions that we have all come to reply on as our default payment method. I am proud to have been part of this extraordinary industry transformation whether as a technologist who designed and built the solutions or a technology leader who has influenced the industry and led major initiatives to deliver these complex outcomes. I believe in pushing the boundaries of what is possible and thinking outside the box when it comes to driving strategic change, which has been a key strength through my leadership career. Through my extensive industry network, I am considered a thought leader to C-Suite Executives, influencing the future and driving transformational change. As an advocate for collaborative cultures and modern engineering, I invest time in developing people, from tapping into early career stages, to attracting emerging talent and upskilling. I encourage diversity and inclusivity, especially when it comes to having more women in technology and I enjoy mentoring others and seeing them develop. With the competitive marketplace constantly changing, organisations must modernise and forge ahead with their technological evolution to remain at the forefront. I champion large-scale transformations using the latest cloud-native technology innovations and the power of modern Data solutions to unlock exciting new opportunities. It is my mission to influence and drive the long overdue modernisation of the core Card Payment technology eco-system in line with other immediate payment solutions across the globe.
