About Scot Stafford
Scot Stafford\'s multidisciplinary career integrates music, sound, story, science and technology at the highest level. As a composer, he has garnered over a dozen awards including a 2023 Emmy for his original score to Shannon Tindle and Peter Ramsey\'s \"Lost Ollie,\" winning five Emmys overall. His score for \"Ultraman: Rising\" features orchestral recordings at AIR Lyndhurst (London), traditional percussion at Tokyo\'s Sound City, along with collaborations with Polyphia guitar god Tim Henson, as well as original NES and Commodore 64 systems modified into playable synthesizers. The music for both Ultraman and Ollie were recorded and mixed in Atmos by his team at Pollen Music Group. As a sound supervisor, he\'s won another dozen awards, including four MPSE \"Golden Reel\" awards. As a storyteller, his interactive/immersive/animated short film \"Sonaria\"(which he created, directed, composed and sound designed) was an Emmy and Cannes Lions finalist/nominee, and won a Telly for best music and sound. As a technologist, he pioneered the first end-to-end interactive and spatial audio pipeline for VR, winning another dozen innovation and technical achievement awards including two Cannes Lions and a Peabody. His company Pollen Audio Group integrates innovation, data science, and neuroscience, prototyping and rigorously testing their own cutting edge technologies as well as from companies like Google and Meta.As a Sony Talent League \"Master\" since 2019, Stafford has mentored dozens of young creators from all over the world including Côte d\'Ivoire, Kenya, Japan, and the Netherlands. One of his prime tenets is the importance of creating an \"Audio Bible\" in the earliest development phase of a new film, series, or game. This establishes the creative team early, and inspires writers and directors to write music and sound into their scripts, and to create the world offscreen, which we don\'t see, but hear. Stafford stands apart in his ability to build multidisciplinary teams that create award-winning soundscapes that exceed what can be done traditionally.
