ABOUT SCOT RAFKIN

I study planetary atmospheres with a specialization in numerical weather prediction, mesoscale modeling, atmospheric dynamics, and cloud microphysics. I have extensive experience developing weather and research modeling codes and have applied these to the study of mesoscale circulations, clouds, and aerosols for Earth and to other terrestrial planetary atmospheres including Mars, Titan, Venus, and Pluto. My team and I have provided to NASA and ESA environmental predictions for every Mars rover and lander since 2003. I also develop and lead projects and proposals for space instrumentation and missions for remote and in situ atmospheric measurements.
