Lead the Shell Canadian Indigenous Peoples Strategy (CIPS) including short-term, mid-term and long-term objective setting, alignment, and implementation. • Lead in-country strategic advice and act as key strategic advisor for businesses on Indigenous engagement requirements and the flux and changes in the consultation and regulatory environment across all business lines nationally. • Lead agreement negotiations, negotiations of Indigenous Peoples Impact Benefit Agreements, and accommodation to meet regulatory requirements and due diligence. • Ensure key Indigenous reputational opportunities and risks are assessed at an early stage, mitigated or leveraged, and integrated into business plans to maintain license to operate and support Shell’s reputation as neighbor and partner of choice with stakeholders and Indigenous peoples. • As SME, identify, frame and propose mitigation strategies for social risks and opportunities related to Indigenous peoples (ie. policy changes impacting Shell’s relationships with Indigenous Peoples, Shell internal decisions, etc.) • Drive and support C&P in delivering Indigenous content nationally. • Drive and support the integration of the Canadian Indigenous Peoples Strategy into asset Indigenous relations strategy and plans.

Scot Hutton has worked in Indigenous, stakeholder (Gov\'t and Regulatory), and community relations for 20+ years specializing in Indigenous engagement, consultation, negotiations, and bespoke agreement creation. The combination of his experience working with First Nations, Government, and Industry (energy, construction, transportation, and extractive sectors), and academia (Instructor, Indigenous Studies; Vancouver Island University), has given him a unique perspective and knowledge base that very few have. Experienced in all aspects of project management, surface land activities, regulatory requirements, and energy project development has given him an intimate knowledge of potential impacts to the environment, sustainability, and Indigenous rights. Scot maintains an established and sustained network of indigenous leaders, community relations experts, as well as provincial Ministers and Assistant Deputy Ministers, throughout Canada. Additionally, he is acknowledged for the development of respectful and professional relationships with Chiefs and Councils across Canada. Scot is skilled and experienced in new policy creation and implementation and has many years of experience with contracting strategies and joint ventures that tend to be the fundaments of long term, mutually beneficial relationships with Aboriginal communities and touchstones for Regulators.
