ABOUT SEBASTIEN CORRIE
Sebastien is an incoming J.D. student at the University of Ottawa, and an Alum of Wilfrid Laurier University where he majored in Criminology, with a Minor in Law & Society. During his time at WLU, Sebastien became an experienced student leader, and advocate. Most recently, he served as Associate Vice President: Government & Stakeholder Relations Brantford, where successfully built lasting relationships with government and community stakeholders, and led efforts to re-instate the Brantford Town & Gown Committee. He also helped to reform processes, and break down barriers for students accessing support. Finally, Sebastien authored an article “Advocating from a Satellite Campus”, and co-authored a policy paper “Responding to the Blue Ribbon Panel” for the Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance. For his work throughout the year, Sebastien was recognized with the OUSA Award for Excellence in Student Advocacy in 2025. In other roles, Sebastien has worked tirelessly to represent the interests of students, particularly from the Brantford campus, on the Wilfrid Laurier University Students’ Union’s Board of Directors, and served as the Case Work Executive for the Student Rights Advisory Committee, helping numerous students navigate their rights and responsibilities under the Residential Tenancies Act, and University Policy. Sebastien is committed to authentic, principled, impactful, and empowering advocacy that ensures that all students have a safe environment in which to grow.
