About Christopher Scofield

At INRIX, Dr. Scofield is responsible for machine learning algorithms for predicting personal driving patterns, the best places to find parking on the street, and optimal travel paths given future and predicted travel conditions. Before joining INRIX, Chris was an Engineering Director at Amazon from 19••••08, managing many of the service groups there and eventually responsible for 5 teams including search, catalog, fraud, payments and advanced research projects. Prior to Amazon, Chris was a Vice President at Nestor, Inc, where he was responsible for their Web personalization product. During his time at Nestor, Chris also served as the Chief Scientist for the DARPA project with Intel to create a Radial Basis Classifier in silicon. As a brief respite from Nestor, Chris founded Cyberiad Software, a desktop search company, which was eventually sold. Chris received his Masters and PhD in Physics from Brown University, for his work on computational models of the cat visual system. He was a visiting scholar at Brown\'s Center for Neural Science from 19••••98. Chris is the author of Neural Networks and Speech Processing, 40+ patents, and over 30 technical articles. Chris received his Bachelor in Science from the University of Washington. In his spare time Chris is an avid sailor, a car nut, and the parent of two children.
