About Sarah Kaiser
I\'m Dr. Sarah Kaiser (she/her) and I love building cutting edge tech that can change the world.NEW: Python Software Foundation Fellow | Microsoft MVPI have spent over 10 years of my career developing new technologies in the lab, from satellites to VR to quantum cryptography hardware. Whether it be soldering hardware, writing software, or managing timelines and customer relations, I have worked in all of the roles needed to make cutting-edge research and commercial products a success. Communicating what is so exciting about science and tech is my passion, and I love creating resources that help our STEM communities build inclusive and collaborative spaces.What am I up to right now: I write books and blogs to help reduce the barrier of entry to technical fields such as ML and Quantum Computing. Most recently I co-authored \"Learn Quantum Computing with Python and Q#\", currently available from Manning Publications. I am working at the Unitary Fund, a non-profit building a community around open source software. You can always find me with our members on Discord discussing the latest quantum news and building the software tools that will advance the field. I am a vocal advocate for diversity and inclusion in STEM fields, giving talks and workshops sharing my experiences and how we can work together to make tech a safer place for all.When not at the keyboard you can find me: laser cutting everything (safe), restoring my 1979 Tollycraft boat, the Sea Knot, and playing with my pup, Chewie.
