About Tom Schwaninger

As an accomplished information technology executive (CIO) and business leader, I have a steady history of surpassing business goals and delivering well-architected, high-quality technology solutions. Throughout my career, I have successfully developed and implemented global IT strategies, delivering business value across numerous industries, including significant international achievements. I believe in maintaining strong business relationships as I foster collaboration and lead high-performance teams to manage, implement and rationalize complex IT portfolios. My career includes executive roles in both large and mid-sized organizations, including Senior Vice President and multiple Chief Information Officer roles. I served as CIO at Aetna International, MetLife International and New York Life International where I focused on the high-growth insurance industry in developing economies. As CIO at the American Red Cross, I led high-impact initiatives such as the transformation of disaster relief systems and the blood management system for half of the nation\'s FDA-regulated blood supply. I earned a B.S. in Computer Science from Purdue University and a Master\'s of Business Administration from Stanford University. In addition, I have also published articles in industry journals and have spoken at numerous conferences on IT and business topics.
