Lake St Louis, MO, US

As a member of the team at NISC, the nation\'s largest software provider to electric and broadband cooperatives, I conduct end user research for a sophisticated, end-to-end enterprise suite of applications. These applications span outage detection and dispatching, finances, and human resources. My role involves:User Analytics/Quantitative Research: Leveraging a mix of UX analytics tools (e.g, Google Analytics, Whatfix) to analyze user paths and site interactions, enhancing user experience and troubleshooting.Outage Management System (OMS): Developing a greenfield mapping/dashboard solution to detect and display outages on the electric grid, allowing operators to manage repair crews based on task flow analysis from SMEs and end-user testing.Augmented Reality Grid Management: Creating a solution that provides field workers with an augmented reality overlay of the grid, enabling object sharing between workers and dispatchers for improved situational awareness.Situational Awareness Dashboard: Designing a dashboard using Goal Directed Task Analysis (GDTA) to identify key information needs for enhancing level 2 and 3 situational awareness based on personas.Machine Learning Grid Predictive Analysis: Implementing machine learning algorithms to predict electric grid load using historical data and other variables.Drone Integration: Investigating and integrating drone usage with technologies like machine vision learning, LIDAR/IR integration, augmented reality, and enterprise systems for electric grid management.Smart Grid Integration: Optimizing electric grids with Meter Data Management (MDM) and Distributed Energy Resource Management Systems (DERMS), while assessing the impact of electric vehicles (EV) and the Internet of Things (IoT) on the grid and user experience.
