About Scarlett Bonner

As a senior Engineering major at Harvey Mudd College, I am passionate about applying my technical and analytical skills to solve real-world problems in mechanical, robotics, aerospace fields. I have gained hands-on experience in mechanical engineering at Carnegie Robotics, where I worked on complete system-level design and CAD of a robotic platform to be used for autonomy stack hardware and software validation. I designed and fabricated/machined mechanical components as well as electrical harnessing to interface with the robotic platform, and completed concept level design for feasibility study for new product development: development of test platforms and fixtures for product integration. I have also had experience in systems and environmental testing, hardware design for subsystem testing, and hardware issue tracking as a Systems Test Engineering Intern at AeroVironment, a leading provider of unmanned aircraft systems and tactical missile systems. Additionally, I am a Writing Center Consultant at Harvey Mudd, where I tutor students in the academic writing process. This experience has strengthened my communication skills and allows me to productively communicate both technical and conceptual ideas. I have developed proficiency in MATLAB, SOLIDWORKS, COMSOL, & SystemVerilog through my coursework and projects. I am eager to learn more and explore new opportunities in the engineering field.
