About Scarlet Cornelius

This past year, I have continued to develop and grow the KIPP New Orleans Schools Alumni Teaching Force with 29 seniors enrolled across two of our high schools, Booker T Washington High School and John F. Kennedy High School, and supporting our 37 alumni in their first and second year of college. I have also developed strong partnerships with Louisiana Universities and HBCUs to ensure that students are earning college credit for the Foundations of Education class while also working with other local high schools to help them develop their own teacher pipeline programs. We are so close to seeing our first cohort of seniors from Booker T Washington become teachers with us at KIPP New Orleans Schools in just 2 short years! Watching our students grow and develop into strong teachers and leaders in the community is the most fulfilling experience imaginable! I have the best job on the planet and feel extremely fortunate every day!
