Manager, Workforce Development & Education for Digital Foundry at New Kensington. an extension of the Penn State New Kensington campus. Our mission is to \"improve lives and strengthen businesses through access to digital technologies\". We provide work training of digital tools and processes for business and industry professionals and individuals seeking a career in the smart manufacturing space. By using an applied and competence-based learning approach, we instill the needed traits of fundamental knowledge, comprehension, application, critical thinking, and creativity. I lead the development of educational programming for local business/industry (workforce training) and the community (8-12 grade and displaced workforce) to provide a growing level of skilled talent in manufacturing. We have developed an outreach strategy to the southwestern Pennsylvania region to help the communities learn about new career pathways in smart manufacturing, provide training on technology and processes, innovation and entrepreneurial skills and professional interpersonal growth, and connect students to manufacturing employers looking for skilled talent. We offer workforce training programs that cover all aspects of Industry 4.0 that are accredited with Penn State University - Continuing Education and provide access to our state-of-the-art training facility. Since we have started our workforce training programs in 2022, we have trained over 450 individuals working with over 20 manufacturing companies.
