About Sayani Majumdar

I am a scientist specializing in in vitro functional assays with 5+ years of experience across mRNA medicines, T-cell immunotherapies and stem cells. I am passionate about advancing life-saving therapies from the bench into the clinic and enjoy solving problems, analyzing complex data from experiments and translating it into strategic, actionable insights.In my current role in the Analytical Development group at Moderna, I contribute to the development and commercialization of mRNA vaccines and cancer therapies by designing, developing and qualifying cell-based assays to assess drug product potency and efficacy. I am proud to be part of a pioneering team and company that continues to push the frontier of mRNA-based therapies.Prior to this role, I worked at a cell therapy startup, Atara Biotherapeutics, where I contributed to analytical activities across multiple immunotherapy products, including the first commercial allogeneic T-cell therapy (Ebvallo). Outside of work, I am actively involved in science outreach (Letters to a Pre-Scientist) and enjoy traveling, reading and trying out plant-based recipes in the kitchen.
