ABOUT SAYALI UPADHYE

Hello! I\'m a producer, writer, and designer in Los Angeles. My love for stories goes all the way back to my childhood when my grandmother used to tell me stories from Indian mythology. This love affair has since then grown into an undying passion for film and TV. As a storyteller, I\'m particularly drawn towards stories of misfits and outliers with themes of chosen family and moral dilemma. As a person of color and a member of many underrepresented communities, I want to highlight lesser-known female narratives from these groups. After recently acquiring my master\'s degree in Film and TV production with strong credits in writing and producing, I am building my career as a producer, writer, and director in the entertainment industry. My goal is to someday work as a showrunner and/or create someone\'s next favorite TV show! Mine is New Girl! I recently worked as a co-writer and co-producer on the student-produced TV show, Provenance. My team\'s work on the episode recently earned us a CollegeTelevision Award hosted by the Television Academy Foundation for Best Drama Series which has been my career\'s most fulfilling moment so far. I\'m currently working as a freelance independent producer on multiple short films and actively looking for bigger opportunities in the producing and writing area. When I\'m not on set or producing, I love doom-scrolling on Pinterest, hiking, scouting for the best thrifts in LA, and cafe hopping around the city.
