About Sayak Roy
I am a postgraduate in Physics with a strong academic foundation and a deep passion for exploring the complexities of quantum mechanics, condensed matter physics, photonics, and cosmology. Over the years, my academic journey has taken me through a range of research experiences—from studying gauge invariance in the Pauli–Schrödinger equation and analyzing the Aharonov–Bohm effect, to investigating nonlinear beam dynamics in graded index optical fibers and simulating cosmic structures through quasar interactions.During my internship at IIT Kharagpur under the supervision of Dr. Samudra Roy, I worked on doped and optically pumped graded index fiber amplifiers using variational methods. This project deepened my understanding of nonlinear wave propagation and strengthened my interest in light–matter interactions. I have also presented my research at national conferences such as NCFMP 2024, where I shared insights on spectral behavior in modulated SSH chains and their topological implications.Currently, I am working as a Science and Mathematics teacher at St. Augustine Day School (Baranagar), where I focus on nurturing scientific curiosity and critical thinking among students. I find great value in connecting abstract theoretical concepts with intuitive understanding, whether in the classroom or through scientific writing and outreach.My technical toolkit includes Python, Mathematica, MATLAB, and LaTeX, which I regularly use for simulation, modeling, and academic documentation. I am particularly drawn to interdisciplinary areas such as quantum coherence in mesoscopic systems, redshift dynamics in high-redshift quasars, and the application of topological concepts in condensed matter systems.I am always open to engaging with fellow researchers, educators, and science communicators. Whether it’s collaborative research, science communication, or educational initiatives, I believe in the power of knowledge-sharing and collective curiosity to drive discovery and innovation.
