About Sawyer Rebennack

I am a creator, a scholar, and an advocate, devoted to using my artistic skills to better the world around me. At Purdue University, I primarily study Animation & Visual Effects, with goals of joining the entertainment industry as a 2-D animator and creating fun and inspiring media for audiences around the world. I also have a minor in LGBTQ+ Studies, and hope to use my creativity to spread awareness and positivity to the community despite the struggles it faces.In addition to my academics, I have the honor of serving as Graphics Editor at The Purdue Exponent. The Purdue Exponent is the community\'s number one independent student-run news agency, serving both the campus and the Greater Lafayette area. Our award-winning staff shares information about local events, stories, and issues, and is dedicated to accessibility, credibility, and creativity.Wherever I find myself, my artistry flourishes, and my community flourishes along with it. Each day is a new opportunity to use my creativity for the better. There\'s only one question: what will I do next?

   The Purdue Exponent

   I work alongside the Page Design Editor to curate the Exponent\'s visual development and overall aesthetic. I oversee the Graphics desk and the Puzzles desk, creating innovative and artistic content for the publication as well as developing engaging and entertaining brain teasers for its readers. In addition to making my own illustrations and puzzles for the newspaper, I also manage the employees of each desk, encouraging their creative development and utilizing their skills to improve the paper.
