ABOUT SWAPNIL SAWANT
I am a Vision Systems Manufacturing Engineer at Tesla, a leading company in sustainable energy and transportation. I have a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Mumbai and I am pursuing a Master of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering at Rochester Institute of Technology, with a focus on manufacturing and automotive systems. In my current role, I am responsible for installing and developing machine vision systems across all global facilities, using image acquisition and processing techniques and machine learning algorithms to detect and mark defects, and to improve the yield and quality of the products. I have over four years of global experience in the medium voltage switchgear and cell manufacturing industries, working with Siemens India and Tesla. I have multiple certifications in MATLAB, image processing, and machine learning, and a yellow belt certification in Six Sigma. I am passionate about solving challenging problems and contributing to the future of sustainable development. I excel at quickly learning new technologies and projects and collaborating with diverse teams. Outside of work, I enjoy triathlon, hiking, and following motorsport racing and soccer.
