About Savannah Berntson

I am a 2025 Masters of Business Administration graduate from UNC Pembroke and a 2024 Bachelor’s of Science in Business Analytics graduate from UNC Charlotte. At UNC Charlotte, I graduated with Honors from the Business Honors Program and Magna Cum Laude. I participated in the Belk Scholars Program, Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity, Order of Omega, Panhellenic Association, Housing and Residence Life, 3 internships, and multiple part-time jobs.After graduation from UNC Charlotte, I spent three months in Spain working as an Au Pair and growing my Spanish skills, while studying for my Masters. This experience taught me cross-cultural communication through an immersive experience and international connections. By supporting two children’s daily routines and contributing to a family’s household rhythm, I developed strong interpersonal and problem solving skills. This experience taught me drive, global awareness, and the ability to thrive in new, dynamic environments. As I work as a Digital Programs Specialist, Shorex. with Holland America, I reflect on my last internship, Carnival Cruise Line Entertainment’s Internship at Sea Program. It taught me so much about adapting to my surroundings, allowed me to meet people from over 60 nationalities, and grew my hosting abilities, especially in front of large crowds. Working with a different schedule every day, 4,500 new guests a week, and a continuously rotating group of coworkers taught me to be ready for everything. It encouraged my creativity and I found myself using new ways to entertain people every day. It reminded me to explain instructions clearly and make sure everything is being properly interpreted, despite language barriers. It also showed me a passion for the hospitality, tourism, and entertainment industry. Now, as a shoreside member of the Shore Excursion’s Team, I am able to understand the relationships between the two departments. I am able to adapt my communication, understand challenges that are only understood by on-board experience, and respect everyone’s roles. To be an effective liaison between the crew and guests, it is important to understand all aspects of the ship and the company; not just your department. This allows me to be the best team member possible and explore various interests of mine.I am looking for opportunities that will grow my professionalism, develop my network, allow me to travel and experience new cultures, or teach me something new.
