About Saurav Kumar

Dr. Saurav Kumar is a PhD in Mechanical Engineering at IIT Bombay, specializing in medical device development, physiological signal processing, feature extraction, statistical analysis, and machine learning classification.His doctoral research focuses on the design and development of a non-invasive signal acquisition device to study radial artery signals and correlate them with diseased conditions using machine learning. The project also involved a PAN-India survey with 91 Ayurvedic physicians to validate unmet clinical needs, followed by statistical analysis using Minitab and SPSS.He completed his MTech at IIT Guwahati, where he developed scientific methods for traditional medicine manufacturing using LabVIEW-based data acquisition and advanced spectral analysis tools (FESEM, XRD, TGA, EDX).His expertise spans CAD modeling (SOLIDWORKS, AutoCAD), PCB design, sensor integration, MATLAB, Python, LabVIEW, OriginLab, Minitab, and SPSS. He has mentored several interdisciplinary teams in developing medical device prototypes and proofs of concept.Outside academics, Saurav has demonstrated leadership and organizational skills through event management and social initiatives with Parmarth (IET Lucknow) and DiSHA (IIT Guwahati). A sports enthusiast, he has won medals in badminton, and enjoys travel, trekking, and pencil sketching in his free time.
