WORK HISTORY
Mechanical Engineer Iii @FuelCell Energy
Danbury, CT, US
Develop high-fidelity computational fluid (CFD) models using Ansys Fluent 2023 R1 to analyze fluid flow for central distribution for Solid Oxide Fuel cell (SOFC) and Solid Oxide Electrolysis cell (SOEC) modules.Designed novel flow conditioners and baffle plates to achieve the desired mass flow distributions (±2% variance) while minimizing pressure losses and significantly enhancing stack performance.Conducted comprehensive thermal analyses, implementing insulation patterns to eliminate hot spots in radiating fuel cell systems for hydrogen production, carbon capture, and power generation.Created thermal-structural (FEA) models to accurately predict stresses on Balance of Plant components. Drove a 70% cost reduction through new gasket design, validated by long duration thermal cycling tests, effectively mitigating high-temperature stack interface leaks and increasing the overall reliability.Collaborated cross-functionally to streamline manufacturing processes, dramatically reducing component complexity and costs for New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.Mentored junior engineers in advanced FEA-CFD simulations and product design best practices.
