ABOUT SAURABH T.

I am based in SGL’s Mumbai office as Head - Legal & Compliance. I have worked at several leading global organizations in a senior or lead capacity over the last 18 years. I provide contracting, legal, compliance, litigation and regulatory support to SGL and have a vast experience of handling diverse legal matters and advising on a myriad of issues and disciplines such as commercial laws, contracts, regulatory compliance, risk management, litigation, legal research, arbitration, employment & service matters, and POSH. Prior to joining SGL, I served as the \'Director - Legal (South Asia)\' at GroupM (a WPP Group), and managed the contracting and litigation matters of the company for South Asia region. I also served as the Legal Counsel for Sikkim University, a Central University under the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India and managed all its legal affairs including litigation and non-litigation matters. Prior to that, I led the legal team of Blue Star Infotech Ltd, now a part of ‘Infogain’ a Silicon Valley headquartered IT Services company and worked extensively on multi-jurisdictional contracts including for the US, UK, Singapore, Malaysia, India, and Canada regions. Apart from leading the team, I was also involved in drafting internal company policies, creating processes; playbooks, forging long-term client relationships, and conducting trainings within the company. Additionally, I worked for the media conglomerate ‘Thomson Reuters’ under its legal managed services division Pangea3 which is now a part of ‘Ernst & Young’; and during the period I handled numerous industry leading projects related to regulatory compliance & internal policy mapping for clients including Barclays, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank and played a key role in successfully spearheading several pilot projects related to litigation solution services, legal research, compliance and due diligence. I started my initial career in financial advisory services with the tier-one financial services company ‘JP Morgan Chase’.
