Hands-on experience in- Design and analysis of test matrices for Li-ion cells based on DOE, USABC, and PNGV guidelines- Modeling of Li-ion cells with emphasis on equivalent circuit models (ECM)- Implementing linear and non-linear filters for State of Charge (SOC) and State of Health (SOH) estimation- Developing advanced estimation algorithms like Least Squares (RLS, Batch LS, WRLS, etc.), Kalman Filters (LKF, EKF, SPKF – UKF and CDKF), Particle Filter, etc- Using Machine Learning (ML) techniques including regression (Linear, SVR, Random forest), classification (K-NN, SVM, Naïve Bayes, etc.), clustering (K-means, Hierarchical), Reinforcement Learning and ANN- Developing advanced linear, nonlinear, and adaptive controllers like PID, Linear quadratic regulator (LQR), Lyapunov, sliding mode, self-oscillating adaptive system (SOAS), MRAS, etc- Implementing a combined A* with a hybrid Particle filter (PF) based SLAM for path tracking algorithms- Designing a roll cage for SAE BAJA competition using CATIA V5 and Solidworks- Implementation of Lagrangian and Kane dynamics to design a gyroscopically stabilized vehicle.

    Lead the development integration and validation of battery management system algorithms, ensuring performance, safety, and compliance through collaboration with multi-functional teams.Key Responsibilities- Lead the design, development, and model-based implementation of battery management system algorithms including state of charge (SOC), state of power (SOP), state of health (SOH), balancing, state machine, charging, thermal management, diagnostics, and safety functions, etc- Lead the integration of model-based battery management system algorithm software code to the rest of the embedded system hand-coded software- Lead battery management system algorithm tuning based on application requirements as well as algorithm verification & validation efforts- Interface with battery testing team to design relevant software-in-loop, hardware-in-loop and hardware tests- Interface with battery modeling team to create model-in-loop simulation for virtual testing of battery management system algorithms as well as to support higher level system simulation (e.g. drivetrain simulation or vehicle simulation)- Lead the exploration of advanced battery management system algorithms (e.g. SOH estimation using machine learning methods) with deep theoretical understanding; create algorithm design, flow chart, tuning, verification & validation, and associated documentation- Interface with battery systems & applications teams to ensure proper battery management features are developed in support of expected battery functionality, performance, safety, and compliance
