As relationship manger in large client group, I got a service side role in NBFC department. Understanding the clients business model, recommending the best products from the huge basket of offerings, creating several financial and other proposals become a daily part of your life. Dealing with large clients gives you variety of exposure in multiple domains at same time. From building financial models, doing projections, credit and liquidity analysis. Working with cross functional teams like legal, transaction, branch banking, deal department, treasury, custody, credit, and several other teams to provide end to end solution to the client give me 360 degree understanding of the banking processes. Getting a chance to learn the core banking softwares, business processes, grooming soft and hard skills provide me a holistic way to grow as an individual. Working with cross functional teams allows me to hone my networking and soft skills. Having time bound deliverables in a fast paced environment teaches me time management skills, working with clients and having a dynamic environment teaches me to plan ahead of time and take initiatives to get my job done ahead of time. Working in a startup has provided me opportunities ranging from Finance and strategy to marketing and operations. All these exposures had groomed my organizational, communication, networking, problem solving skills. As a fresher entering into a startup, I worked with the owner to build the foundation of the business- bringing the first customers, managing banking relationships, setting up the office, managing franchisee relationship, inventory, first suppliers, creating a delivery channel and much more. I actually shopped for the office supplies and furniture in the initial years. Summing up, this was one of the most exciting place to work and learn.
