ABOUT SAUMYA GAUTAM
Until the month of May’22, I was part of the quick commerce pioneer Blinkit (acquired by Zomato) leading P&L of some of the Non-food categories with very enthusiastic team members.(~$100M Annual revenue) Personal care being one of those categories initiated me to think of my ever-neglected skin care. From building Blinkit biggest E-grocery channel for some of the biggest brands in India (Tide is my personal favourite) in an EDLP ecosystem to creating the platform with largest penetration of non-food categories in quick commerce space in India, I led the transformation of business into new quick commerce play. Earlier part of the Future group leadership program, I got the opportunity to actualize Kishore Biyani’s ambitious vision of transforming oats consumption in India. Created the brand called KOSH (means treasure) from scratch distributed across 1200 modern trade, general trade and 2 online channels in 3 years. Traveled extensively across the country to understand the consumers and immerse myself in the people & culture too. Started my career with govt owned PSUs - BHEL as a procurement officer, when GOI asked BHEL to lead Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission and develop solar power generating capacity in India. I led procurement for 9 projects including biggest projects by BHEL till that time.I am an inquisitive kid at heart with infinite energy to create something new. I spent most of my childhood in a small township in Singrauli in a highly disciplined and learning environment. I love experimenting, solving challenging problems, imagining, and executing big bets and nurturing people to find greatness in themselves.Apart from work, you will find me exercising, playing sports, reading, playing instruments, singing, discussing badminton & sports psychology, and making my next travel itinerary.
