About Saumya Yadav

Saumya is a Ph.D. student in the Biophysics and computational Biology lab at Department of Bioscience and Bioengineering, IIT Bombay. Her research field includes making of in-silico models of cellular transport machinery and the role of cargo geometry and cytoskeletal intersections in it. Additionally, she has worked on making theoretical models of geometries and UV doses of different UV disinfection devices developed in her lab. During her Btech, she worked on identifying missense mutations in the tissue samples of ovarian cancer patients. Apart from this, she has worked on data analysis of diagnostic methods and drug prescriptions of Non-small cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) patients in the region of Lucknow-Allahabad and published relevant results. Skills- Identifying missense mutations, microbial and animal culture handling, protein and DNA extraction and purification methods, immobilization methods, Analysis of proteins and lipid molecules using spectrophotometric methods, Recombinant DNA technology, Fortran77 (develop biophysical models of cellular transport at nano and micrometers of scale), Python (for classifying coordinates of atoms from X-ray crystallography and estimation fo peptide bonds), shell scripting, R-studio (circular graph plots of angles), MATLAB, POV-Ray (animation), Gnuplot, SOLIDWORKS (designing of UV-sanitation device- building its parts such as motors, brackets, arms, wheels, etc and assembling the parts to make an assembly of a device. Developing animation videos of the device to direct its motion and do motion study), homology based modeling of protein molecules using MD simulations and VMD.
