Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant @The University of Alabama
US
Area-Selective Atomic Layer Deposition Using Chemisorbed Carboxylate Inhibitors (NSF funded)• Analyze the effect of selectivity for metal oxide ALD on stearic acid self-assembled monolayers (SAM) on metal substrates using XPS, SEM-EDX and AFM-IR to introduce a novel chip patterning technique.• Identify the role of functional headgroup of alkanethiols or derivate monolayers on ALD using XPS, AFM-IR and IR imaging to enhance area-selectivity of metal deposition for precise chip patterning.Investigating the coaggregation of Aβ42 and Tau protein (NIH funded)• Prepare Aβ42 and Tau buffer solution after HFIP treatment and fabricate protein samples for IR imaging and AFM-IR experiments to understand the heterotypic interaction between two proteins and their aggregation mechanism at different timepoints.• Identify different components of corresponding amide-I region extracted from hyperspectral infrared cubes by implementing Principle Component Analysis (PCA) and Non-negative Matrix Factorization (NNMF) methods.• Led two semesters of General Chemistry Laboratory courses and one semester of General Chemistry Theory course as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. •Duties for lab courses: supervised 24 students in each course in conducting experiments for ~4 hours a week. Graded quizzes and lab reports. Led pre-lab lectures to explain fundamental concepts.
