About Saumitra Paranjape
As an indirect tax professional, I try to add value to clients by providing solutions to ensure compliance, minimize risk exposure, and capitalize on opportunities by acquiring requisite theoretical and practical skills, and constantly studying the law, decisions, and current affairs. What drive me are the opportunities to solve clients\' problems through an enriching process, i.e, read and interpret the law, interact with professionals, industry experts, and Government officers, study business operations and their peculiar challenges, and develop solutions through collaboration.During articleship/ internship, I got opportunities to assist Chartered Accountants in audits (forensic, statutory, internal, and concurrent), where I observed functioning of different kinds of businesses.I read/ understand/ speak English, Marathi, and Hindi with native/ bilingual proficiency. I also read/ understand/ speak German and Gujarati with elementary proficiency.When I am not working, I am (i) a bibliophile,(ii) a history, politics, and football a zoophilist,(iv) an occasional artist, and (v) a casual player of football, cricket, table tennis, chess, badminton, and squash.Key achievements:1. Independently authored an article on GST refund procedure Led a class of 100+ students to a 2nd prize trophy in a college event by being the unanimously-voted captain3. Voice-dubbed for a film presented at international film festivals [The Drone and the Kid – 2017]4.
