ABOUT SAUL MCLEOD CPSYCHOL
As a Chartered Psychologist (CPsychol), psychology educator, researcher, and founder of Simply Psychology, I bring over 24 years of experience making complex psychological theories clear, accurate, and accessible for a global audience.I hold a PhD in Psychology from The University of Manchester, where my research focused on romantic attachment and social support. My academic background also includes an MRes in Experimental Psychology with Data Science, a PGCE in Further, Higher and Adult Education, and a BSc (Hons) in Psychology. I am a Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) professional and an International Affiliate of the American Psychological Association (APA).In 2007, I founded Simply Psychology, a leading online psychology education platform visited by over 3 million readers per month. The site has been cited in more than academic papers and referenced by major institutions and media outlets including Harvard University, The New York Times, The Guardian, CNN, Psychology Today, and the Washington Post.I’ve contributed to journals such as the Journal of Clinical Psychology and the Journal of Social and Personal Relationships, publishing research on topics including romantic attachment, social cognition, and interpersonal support dynamics. My teaching experience spans both further and higher education. I lectured in A-level Psychology at Wigan and Leigh College (2003–2013) and served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at The University of Manchester (2002–2020), supporting lab sessions, tutorials, and statistics instruction for undergraduates. My strengths lie in curriculum design, academic writing, research communication, and bridging the gap between academic psychology and everyday understanding.I love blending rigorous research with clear communication, whether writing student-friendly articles or mentoring new psychology teachers. If you’re looking for a seasoned psychology expert for collaboration, media commentary, or educational consulting, I’d be happy to connect.
