The world headquarters of Markowitz Communications is located in Pittsburgh, PA. After working in the public relations departments of several of Pittsburgh\'s premier performing arts centers, taking on the role of public relations director at Carnegie Mellon University\'s College of Fine Arts and then serving as the director of marketing and public relations at the Pittsburgh Zoo, I decided to open my own agency. Markowitz Communications officially opened its doors on April 1, 1997 - aka April Fool’s Day – (yes, there’s a punch line in there somewhere).The company quickly established a reputation as a small firm that takes on large, high-profile accounts. For example, MC was the agency of choice for AT & T when it decided to launch a public relations campaign designed to break Verizon’s hold on local phone service.When Cirque du Soleil first came to Pittsburgh in 2003 and then returned with new productions in 2005, 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2014, it looked to Markowitz to make its shows phenomenons.And when PetSmart opted to have one firm handle all of its public relations throughout the United States and Canada, it was MC the company selected. Finally, a few years ago when Simon Property Group was shopping around for a new Pittsburgh PR agency, Markowitz was just the right fit.MC was the group Washington County Tourism and Promotion Agency turned to for its entire rebranding campaign (complete with a new logo, new website, new public relations campaigns, new print and video ads and new visitor guides).At Markowitz, we offer our clients a proactive, integrated approach to marketing and public relations.
