ABOUT SAUL CLAYTON

I am a Commercial Manager with a background spanning Tier 1 contracting and modern sustainable development, delivering major projects across healthcare, education, regeneration and large-scale residential construction. My experience includes 8 years at Carillion and 9 years at Ferrovial working on complex PFI and D&B Schemes, followed by senior commercial leadership at Citu, a vertically integrated developer focused on urban regeneration, off site timber manufacturing and Passivhaus-level sustainability.I specialise in leading commercial governance, cost planning, supply chain development and procurement across multi-phase programmes. I have delivered commercially challenging schemes including brownfield remediation, heritage refurbishment and regeneration of industrial sites into new communities. I work closely with designers and consultants through RIBA stages to maintain cost alignment, manage risk and ensure commercial viability.My approach is structured, collaborative and grounded in strong commercial discipline. I enjoy shaping commercial strategy, mentoring teams, establishing clear reporting frameworks and building long-term supply chain capability. I am particularly experienced in change control, risk management, contractual negotiation and maintaining close relationships with client and consultant teams.I’m motivated by creating commercially robust, sustainable, well-planned projects and supporting teams to deliver them successfully.
