I run and manage all areas of Elysia’s battery testing, cell manufacturing and teardown operations at the Banbury site, including facility setup, H&S, environmental compliance, and test process development.Key responsibilities include:Disassembly, testing and analysis of prismatic, cylindrical, coin, and pouch cellsFabrication of coin cells, PAT cells, and single-layer pouch cellsModule teardowns and testing to assess pack design and failure modesSEM and materials analysis for electrode characterisationPlanning and executing cell test programs using thermal chambers, custom profiles, and various battery cyclersDesigning, procuring, and building prototype test rigs for cell-level developmentWriting and standardising SOPs for glovebox and testing operationsDriving automation, data curation, and out-of-process testing facility expansionConducting risk assessments, COSHH reviews, and supporting FMEA for test workflowsOverseeing internal/external calibration, equipment maintenance, and ensuring alignment with the Fortescue Zero 5S systemThis role combines hands-on technical work with facility leadership, giving me the opportunity to scale battery testing capabilities while ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and innovation.
