About Satyam Vyas
The biggest risk in development is not bad ideas. It is good ideas trapped inside institutions too fragile to carry them. I founded Arthan and Climate Asia because I kept seeing the same pattern across India and Asia. Brilliant leaders, important work and chronic underinvestment in the organisations doing it. Programmes that delivered, institutions that did not survive them. My journey from Pratham to building two organisations has been driven by one question: what does it actually take to build institutions that last? Arthan is India\'s leading talent and institutional development platform, working with thousands of organisations across India and Southeast Asia. Climate Asia is the institutional engine for climate action across the Global South, strengthening civil society organisations, accelerating women\'s leadership, and connecting frontline communities to the capital and capacity they need to lead their own solutions. The bottleneck in development is almost never funding. It is the institutional capacity to deploy funding well. The highest-leverage investment is not the next programme. It is the organisations delivering the last one. I work at the bridge between policy, philanthropy, and grassroots action across Asia, advising governments, multi-laterals and mission-driven organisations on what it takes to build institutions that absorb capital and multiply impact. The Global South is generating its own solutions. What is missing is the institutional infrastructure to scale them and the capital willing to build it. That is exactly what we are building. If you believe the next decade of impact will be won or lost at the organisational level, I would like to talk. Not about programmes. About architecture.
