About Satvika Char
I am presently working as a postgraduate research associate at the Yale University Child Study Center under the supervision of Dr. Carla Stover. The Stover Lab focuses on improving family outcomes by working with fathers with Intimate Partner Violence, trauma, and substance use. Prior to this, I completed a Master of Research degree in Developmental Neuroscience and Psychopathology through University College London and Yale University. Some of my research interests include working with underserved children and families to explore the impact of various forms of trauma, such as family violence, substance misuse, or financial strain. I am interested in examining caregiver-child relationships in these contexts and understanding how early experiences influence the intergenerational transmission of risk. I also seek to understand potential risk or protective factors in promoting wellbeing through studying mechanisms such as emotion regulation and socialization.
