Overseeing Financial Operations: Manage the day-to-day operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll. Ensure regulatory and contractual compliance by preparing and issuing required documents such as Form Statutory Declaration (CCDC 9B), WSIB Clearance Certificate, Certificate of Insurance (COI), and Form 7 – Certificate of Completion of Subcontract- Evaluate Construction Projects: Evaluate construction projects from start to finish in accordance with the schedule of values, specifications, and budget- Budget and Financial Management: Prepare and submit construction project budget, monitor project progress against budgets, and ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, reports, and analyses- Progress Billing: Conduct daily and monthly progress billing checks, including back charges with the crew- Purchasing and Procurement: Direct the purchase of building materials, ensuring the availability of necessary resources for ongoing construction projects- Monitoring Financial Performance: Monitor cash flow, financial performance, and key performance indicators, identifying trends and areas for improvement to maintain financial health- Implementing Internal Controls: Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures- Liaising with Third Parties: Communicate and coordinate with external stakeholders such as vendors, subcontractors, clients, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth project execution and financial compliance.
