Research Area: Identifying novel dietary flavonoids for the prevention of vascular disease in diabetes and metabolic syndrome (MetS)- Investigation of the vascular beneficial effects of blueberries and strawberries with special emphasis on the microbial metabolites of berry anthocyanins and the molecular signaling mechanisms involved- Understanding the causal association between dietary berries, gut microbiome and vascular health- To study the role of blueberry anthocyanins attenuating endothelial dysfunction in MetS by acting on multiple targets which is mediated through the microbial metabolites of blueberries.
