About Saswata Mitra
Saswata has more than a decade of prior work experience as an attorney in the general corporate advisory and transaction practice having worked with some of the reputed international and domestic organisations. Saswata was briefly associated with AZB & Partners in the corporate advisory and transactional space in the capacity of a senior associate. Prior to joining AZB & Partners, Saswata was associated with HSA Advocates as a senior resource in their general corporate commercial team. Before HSA, Saswata was working as a retained advisor (India Counsel) for Astro Capital, the investment joint venture arm of the Astro Malaysia Group partnered with Khazanah Capital, as a part of their India investments team. In his role as India Counsel, Saswata used to manage and deal with the day to day legal and corporate, compliance requirements of its portfolio companies namely, Food Food, NDTV Lifestyle, NDTV Ethnic Roots, Ask Me.Com, AskMe Bazaar.com, Red FM and Sun DTH. Additionally, Saswata used to work closely with the investment and finance teams, providing inputs on the legal risks associated with any of its existing acquisition opportunities. Saswata has also worked with the General Corporate Advisory and Transactions Practice Team of Wadia Ghandy & Co. in the general corporate advisory and transactional practice space, wherein he has advised clients across multiple practice areas ranging from Banking and Finance, Foreign Investments (whether inbound or otherwise) Corporate Compliance and Regulatory, Private Equity and M&A. M&A, Strategic Investments, Private Equity Investments are Saswata\'s area of interest.
