Rehired into a highly visible, strategic partner role, I draw on my inside executive experience and approach to support organizations in sensitive and high-stake matters. Partnering with the firm’s other top-notch attorneys, I help nonprofits navigate federal and state rules regulating the charitable sector, including governance, federal + state advocacy/lobbying, grants, and structuring of collaborations, public-private partnerships, and mergers.Steering the executive charter of advancing mission-centered value, I drive purpose-driven organizational initiatives, while minimizing risks. Serving as a strategic advisor and counselor to the Board, I pioneer mission-forward methods for myriad types of tax-exempt organizations, including foundations, charities, associations and educational institutions.I also collaborate with boards + executive leadership to navigate solutions for best in practice governance. When new approaches are embraced, I help foundations propel forward from a standing start to achieve a more robust grant-making wheel and create exponential impact via trust-based philanthropy. Moreover, as an unabashed believer that nonprofits must be advocates to further their mission, I’ve helped enable foundations to embrace their role in advocacy.
