Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is a multimodal organization with a dedicated workforce responsible for planning, building, and operating an integrated transportation system that safely and efficiently moves people and goods throughout the state. I supervise a high-performing agency graphics team and support the needs of communications staff, interactive web communications, executives, programs and regions across the agency— Determines develops effective design methods for public information activities and events, providing guidance to staff on project scope, focus, audience, and media channel— Oversees the production, design, and coordination of various print and digital materials, including publications, exhibits, websites, app graphics, and design libraries— Prioritizes staff workload by establishing, organizing, and adapting project schedules as needed— Provides conflict resolution for scheduling priorities, media selection, production methods, and publication policy; accepts or declines projects, negotiates deadlines— Offers staff guidance, problem-solving, and cross-training in areas like design consultation, document preparation, accessibility compliance, software issues, and pre-press preparation— Advises on media content, design, creative strategy, budget constraints, product compliance, branding, and agency identity usage, ensuring products adhere to agency standards— Manages multiple projects with diverse deadlines and limitations; advising and coordinating tasks to achieve comprehensive project solutions— Monitors staff workflow to ensure agency branding standards, product compliance with ADA, Section 508, and Title VI requirements, and coordinates with the web team on content training— Implements or approves department and program logo use for publications, buildings, vessels, vehicles, equipment, and signing (i.e. Good To Go, Washington State Ferries, Amtrak Cascades, other official identities)
