Dark Matter Entertainment is a Los Angeles and New York based Film and Television Production Company. We work with filmmakers to develop a large and diverse slate of projects across platforms that focus on telling varied, interesting stories from unique POVs.• Identify quality content through search for new material such as scripts, articles, books, games, and other types of media;• Cultivate and leverage established relationships with the industry creative and executive community—writers, directors, agents, managers, producers, financiers, studio execs, etc, and build new ones to ensure a wide net;• Read and review submissions for potential development and production; evaluate writers and directors for open assignments;• Collaborate with writers through every stage of development, from ideation to execution to feedback on scripts and story;• Oversee the production and execution of high-quality visual materials to accompany scripts to pitch to buyers—sizzle reels, pitch decks, live pitches and other creative additions to the project sales process;• Conceive creative sales strategies for projects ranging from small indie features to large-scale TV shows to blockbusters;• Keeping knowledge up to date on industry dynamics and promising talent/content through research, interactions, communication, reading, scouting festivals, and strong word-of-mouth;• Work closely with various programs to find and cultivate the best quality internship for students to gain valuable experience;• Organize directories of information to provide access to important resources like tax credits, contact info, assignments, etc.• Oversee HR, Business Affairs, Accounting, and Legal to ensure that all departments meet company standards;• Establish effective workflow, on set and off, to manage a large, diverse slate of TV & Film projects and ensure accountability.
