Responsible for developing technical solutions of projects starting from initial scope, design concept generation, functional prototyping, manufacturing validation and development of value engineering plans through product launch. Managed multiple vehicle programs for two OEMs. Tools used include PLM for product management, Solidworks & CREO for design reviews, AutoQuote for cost analysis, Enterproj for project management.Investigated field-based issues on coolant hoses, performed problem analysis to understand causal mechanisms, recommended appropriate countermeasure with problem ownership from a design perspective and documenting results for guiding the engineering community.Understand customer required standards and design guides to accomplish strategic objectives. It includes development of new rubber compound and new yarn, evaluating the scope to customer required specifications for different application hoses that include radiator, heater, transmission oil cooler and blowby applications used across multiple vehicle platforms, performed design reviews with the customer, validated 700+ tests, analyzed problems through 8D techniques, implemented countermeasures, collaborated with cross functional teams for PPAP and product launch at our different manufacturing locations. Liaison with our Japan Technical Center to co-ordinate Japanese OEM customer engineering approvals.Promoted Cooper Standard innovation products to Electric Vehicle OEMs as part of the product strategy and supported related prototype builds.Oversee Program and Project management tasks from cradle to grave.Engineering lead with collaborative sessions with Sales, Purchasing, Operations and Planning from project onset through launch. Lead program development (gate stage) and design review through identifying problem areas and determine root-cause and improve performance within projects.
