About Sarvesh Raghupathy
I am a high school researcher focused on theoretical astrophysics, with a specific interest in cosmology. My recent work explores a phenomenological quintessence framework as a dynamic replacement for the cosmological constant. Rather than relying on purely theoretical constructions, I developed a data-driven approach by modifying the Friedmann equation and evaluating model viability using Bayesian inference and Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) methods. This work was conducted under mentorship through Pioneer Academics and presented at the Sigma Xi Student Research Showcase. A preprint of the paper is publicly available. Beyond research, I serve as Captain of Physics for my school’s Science Olympiad team, where I lead preparation in astronomy and optics-based events. I have also competed internationally, earning Gold Honour-level distinction (Top 2%) in the International Astronomy and Astrophysics Competition. I am interested in further research opportunities in cosmology and astrophysics, particularly those involving computational modeling, large-scale structure, and dark energy.
