ABOUT SARTHAK BODHALE

As a driven mechanical engineering student, I recently completed a rewarding 16-month co-op with the City of Edmonton\'s Lifecycle Management (Facilities Asset Management) team. This experience provided me with a robust, real-world foundation in asset management, technical reporting, and data-driven capital planning. I am passionate about applying my skills to deliver practical solutions that contribute to the long-term efficiency and sustainability of infrastructure.During my co-op, my core responsibilities included asset rationalization and prioritization, where I developed a comprehensive scorecard for all city-owned facilities. This scorecard directly informed the 20••••30 Capital Renewal Schedule, helping to rank and prioritize projects based on operational risk, physical condition, and deferred maintenance. I also prepared detailed scopes of work for facilities, ensuring capital projects were well-defined and aligned with business partner needs.I excel at translating technical assessments into actionable strategies. A key aspect of my role was conducting and reviewing Building Condition Assessments (BCAs) and Facility Condition Assessments (FCAs). In this process, I applied a foundational knowledge of the National Building Code of Canada (NBCC) and its integration with key industry standards like ASTM. I consistently used the ASTM E1557 Uniformat II classification system to ensure consistency and accuracy in my assessments and when reviewing consultant reports, which is critical for standardized data and cost analysis.Beyond my core technical work, I am a proactive and collaborative team member. To streamline team operations and empower new hires, I developed the Key Assessment Factor table, a structured guide detailing what to look for during site assessments. This tool highlights various deficiencies and definitions for major systems, including architectural, mechanical, electrical, and structural components. Additionally, I developed a cost analysis matrix to identify trends in consultant performance and authored a business case for using drones for roof assessments. I also gained experience in leadership and event management by serving as the Finance lead for the Student Connect Event committee. I am committed to continuous learning and am eager to apply my skills to new challenges.
