ABOUT SAROSH SHAWN BATLIVALA

Graduated from University of Florida (UF) College of Medicine in 2005 after completing a 7-year combined B.S. & M.D. Completed pediatrics residency at UF, including later serving as chief resident, in 2009. From 20••••12, was a pediatric cardiology fellow at Boston Children’s Hospital. Completed training in 2013 with an advanced clinical fellowship in interventional congenital cardiac catheterization at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Joined the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) in 2013. At UMMC, helped create a Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship and served as Program Director. Also served as Director of all Pediatric Fellowship Training Programs. Was appointed Interim Division Chief in September 2017. Also completed a Master of Science in Clinical Investigation in December 2017. Transitioned to Cincinnati Children\'s Hospital Medical Center in March 2018.Have research interests both in and out of the catheterization laboratory. MSCI thesis work focused on newborn screening programs for critical congenital heart disease. Also have interests in investigating percutaneous and surgical outcomes for various forms of congenital heart disease. Have been engaged with SCAI since fellowship. Currently active with the Congenital Interventional Cardiology Coding Workgroup, helping revise existing RUC valuations and develop new CPT codes for transcatheter congenital cardiac interventions. Have also been an active member of the Pediatric Interventional Cardiology Early career Society (PICES) and served on the PICES Executive Committee as Secretary. Also hold significant leadership positions with the American Academy of Pediatrics as former Chair of the national Section on Early Career Physicians and multiple positions with the Section on Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery.
