Advanced Material Characterization: 1. Catalyst characterization using X-ray adsorption fine structure (XAFS) technique to determine the local structure and electronic state of the material. Processing and analysing X-ray adsorption spectroscopy data using Athena: the reduction of raw data from the beamline into the X-ray absorption cross section (mu (E)), as well as normalization, background removal, visualization, and empirical analysis of the X-ray absorption near-edge structure (XANES) 3. Utilize ARTEMIS software for quantitative analysis of the extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) using theoretical fitting standards from the FEFF program.Kinetic and Process Modelling: 1. Improvements and support for smooth running to the UOP hydro-processing and hydrotreating models to predict reaction yields, necessary process conditions and catalyst life. Utilise UNISIM (Honeywell\'s inbuilt process modelling tool) to model processes and implement reaction kinetics. Use Fortran, VBA and C-sharp programming to build Kinetic models and yield estimation tools for UOP\'s hydro-processing and hydrotreating processes.
