As a Senior Program Manager at Girls Count since March 2024, I lead the organization’s efforts to combat Gender-Biased Sex Selection (GBSS) through research, documentation, and strategic program management. My role involves planning and executing comprehensive training and capacity-building initiatives for over 300 Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) across India, equipping them to address GBSS effectively. I actively network with parliamentarians to drive policy advocacy, organizing impactful roundtable discussions on critical issues such as son preference and daughter unwantedness. Notable achievements include mobilizing 300+ CSOs for policy-level discussions and engaging 14 parliamentarians in advocacy efforts. Through webinars and offline events, I’ve enhanced stakeholder capacity and fostered a collaborative approach to tackling gender inequities, making a significant impact at both grassroots and policy levels.
