I am an experienced professional with a scientific, engineering and technical background with proven track record working on large-scale, server side/multi-tier telecom and cloud projects. I am currently the Director of a team of highly skilled Software Engineers whose main goal is to drive innovation in building new services and to improve \"operations\" of a large cloud system as it moves to Amazon Web Services (AWS). Despite my title I am very hands on and usually spend decent amount time proving new technologies and produce prototypes. At high level my job can be split in the following main areas:• Architecture: Investigate the various technologies out there and make the best use in the product architecture and development.• Vision and Road Map: Keep reviewing the product future vision.• Process: Make sure my team follows a high quality standard for software development and security.• Planning: Work with Product owners, Project Managers, Sales and Business Analysts to build a common set of feature for current and future releases. • Development: work with scrum master to track development status and occasional write my own code.• Maintenance: Review issues from the field and work on resolution.In the last few years my team has been working on the following main big projects:• Create a Continuous Delivery pipeline using Automation testing tools, Bitbucket and Jenkins.• Automation deployment capabilities using Cloud Formation, Ansible and Jenkins.• Build a Microservice infrastructure (using Docker and Amazon ECS service)• Build a “Data Lake” for Big Data applications (using Kinesis, S3, Athena and Tableau)• Prototype of Deep Learning algorithms using Convolutional Neural Networks, Pytorch, Keras and AWS Sagemaker. I have built up a substantial skill set through my previous experience working across various roles such as Software Engineer, Team Leader, Software Architect, Scrum Master and now Director and I have been using different development processes such as Agile Scrum & Kanban and Waterfall. I have strong team-leading skills and extensive experience in working and leading teams distributed across different locations and companies. I am educated to degree level with a master’s degree in Electronic Engineering.
