ABOUT SARKES M. KHACHEK
Sarkes Khachek leads the Programming Division at SBCAG. The Programming Division is responsible for strategic management of federal, state and regional transportation funding to deliver transformative projects that improve livability in Santa Barbara County. This includes management and delivery of Santa Barbara County\'s voter approved transportation sales tax measure, known as Measure A, which funds a wide range of critical projects in the region.The Programming Division also successfully collaborates with federal, state, regional and local partners to identify, seek and secure federal and state discretionary funding for priority projects that support all modes of transportation to improve mobility for all residents.The Programming Division also supports local partners with the funding and delivery of local transportation improvements.Mr. Khachek serves as SBCAG’s agency liaison to key state organizations such as the California Transportation Commission, California Association of Councils of Governments, California Regional Transportation Planning Agencies Group, and Self Help Counties Coalition. He also serves as the Chief of Staff for the Central Coast Coalition. The Central Coast Coalition includes the five counties on California\'s Central Coast that speak as one voice to highlight the significance of the Central Coast region and advocate for legislative and project priorities. Mr. Khachek is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, College of Environmental Design with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Architecture.
